Toss Bangladesh chose to bowl vs India
“The win in 2018 was long ago,” Nigar said. “Good memories, sure, but it’s an important game because it could be our last game if we lose.”
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur said she wanted to bat first anyway. “We think runs on the board will give us a lot of confidence,” she said. “But you cannot take any team lightly in T20 cricket.”
Both teams fielded unchanged XIs.
This has been a low-scoring tournament so far. But Veda Krishnamurthy in her pitch report said that this is a “beautiful surface to bat on”.
India have not lost to Bangladesh in T20Is since July 2023. The two teams have faced each other eight times in this period, with India winning on each occasion. Overall, they have a 21-3 head-to-head record against Bangladesh.
