Manchester United are reportedly considering a winter move for Club Brugge left-back Joaquin Seys as they look to bolster their defensive options.
The Red Devils are expected to reinforce their left-back department following their inability to secure a new defender during the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall was identified as a primary target, but the Magpies firmly stated that the player was not available for transfer.
The club also made a late attempt to sign Manchester City’s Rayan Ait-Nouri, though negotiations ultimately failed to yield a suitable agreement.
Belgian international Joaquin Seys was also on the club’s radar, and reports suggest that Manchester United could pursue a deal to bring him to Old Trafford at the turn of the year.
While Club Brugge parted ways with Christos Tzolis by selling him to Arsenal over the summer, they opted to retain the services of both Seys and Nicolo Tresoldi for the current campaign.
Although both players have been promised moves at the end of the season, Manchester United could test Club Brugge’s resolve with an approach for Seys in January.
Club Brugge are unlikely to part with Seys on the cheap, with the club expected to demand a fee of at least £35 million should they consider a transfer.
