Troye Sivan has released his new single “Party,” the latest offering from his upcoming album She’s the Best. Built around a prominent sample of Madonna’s Y2K anthem “Music,” the track arrives with an elaborate, baroque-directed video from Gordon von Steiner. In the clip, Sivan takes on the role of a Medieval knight, complete with a voiceover by none other than Sir Ian McKellen. That’s right — Gandalf himself lends his unmistakable narration to the new Troye Sivan visual. See for yourself below.
“Dance music sounds very different on a dance floor than it does coming out of your laptop speaker,” Sivan explained of “Party” in press materials. “The repetition becomes almost hypnotic, and I wanted to play with structure in that way.”
Serving as the follow-up to 2023’s Something to Give Each Other, She’s the Best is set to land October 9. Sivan announced the album last month alongside its title track, which similarly featured an A-lister in its music video: fellow Australian and Boy Erased co-star Nicole Kidman.
