Scalpers Drive Up Prices for Grand Theft Auto 6 Limited-Edition Vinyl

The highly sought-after limited-edition vinyl for Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album is currently being resold at nearly three times its original retail price.

On September 17, Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records revealed a partnership to release Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album. This 34-track compilation features exclusive tracks from some of the world’s most prominent musical artists. While the complete roster remains under wraps, confirmed contributors include Travis Scott, Future, Fred Again.., Morgan Wallen, PinkPantheress, and Keith Richards. Both the highly anticipated video game and its accompanying album are scheduled for release on November 19.

In addition to being available on major streaming platforms, the album will be released in multiple physical formats. Currently, 11 distinct vinyl variants and two CD editions have been confirmed.

Pre-orders launched yesterday, and the limited-edition vinyl sold out in under an hour. This premium edition features two transparent magenta discs filled with blue liquid, accompanied by exclusive artwork that reflects the iconic aesthetic of Grand Theft Auto 6.

Scalpers have wasted no time in listing the coveted vinyl on resale platforms with significant markups. Originally priced at £108.99, the limited-edition record is now appearing in over a dozen eBay listings, with asking prices ranging from £220 to £490. Several copies have already successfully sold on the platform for amounts between £215 and £315, and similar resale trends are being observed internationally.

This situation follows Rockstar Games’ confirmation that Grand Theft Auto 6 will not receive a traditional physical release, opting instead for a retail box containing a digital download code.

Discussing the project on social media, Atlantic Records President Kevin Weaver stated: “The passion, creativity, commitment and relentless work that has gone into bringing this to life has been incredible. To have the opportunity to create this album as part of GTA 6, a game and cultural moment of this magnitude, is almost impossible to put into words. The scale, ambition and creativity behind this game are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and the caliber of the artists and music we’ve brought together for this album is something I could not be more excited for the world to hear.”

Furthermore, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy recently hinted that Grand Theft Auto 6 Online will debut next year. “We spent a lot of time helping them think about how they can engage our creators,” Clancy noted in a recent interview. “You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.”
