Fulham Player Ratings: Josh King Tops the Marks Against Manchester United

Bernd Leno: Was sharp early to deny Lisandro Martinez and had to scramble as Matheus Cunha’s effort looped onto a post. Later produced a full-length save to keep out Bryan Mbeumo. 7

Timothy Castagne: Was booked after fouling Marcus Rashford as Manchester United broke forward in the second half. 6

David Affengruber: Delivered an excellent defence-splitting pass to release Josh King, although King could not finish. He was fortunate to avoid punishment after being beaten by Cunha close to the goal-line, but recovered well to take the ball from Mbeumo as he threatened to counter. 7

Calvin Bassey: Faced a difficult positional assignment with Manchester United using no conventional centre-forward. Advanced effectively and helped create Fulham’s goal. 7

Antonee Robinson: Pushed into advanced areas from the inside-forward role and caused problems for the visitors’ defensive shape. 7

Sander Berge (replaced by Larsson, 76): Forced Senne Lammens to turn away an effort from the edge of the area. 7

Shea Charles: His midfield partnership with Berge was important in shielding Fulham’s defence during Manchester United’s longer spells of possession. His passing was occasionally inaccurate. 6

Oscar Bobb (replaced by Kevin, 70): Saw a rolled effort finish just wide and will feel he should have tested the goalkeeper. 6

Josh King (replaced by Andersen, 79): Constantly looked to get on the ball and cause problems. Required a strong save from Lammens at the far post, while his shot across goal looked likely to go in before the visitors’ keeper scrambled to clear. Tarnished an otherwise impressive display with a booking for diving. 8

Alex Iwobi (replaced by Palacios, 70): Also looked to exploit the inside-left channel when Fulham attacked. His low cross nearly created a chance for Gonzalo Garcia, while a deeper delivery did create the opening for King. 7

Gonzalo Garcia (replaced by Muniz, 79): Was half a stride short of tapping in from Iwobi’s cross from the left. 6
