Chelsea were very close to signing Kerim Alajbegovic from Bayer Leverkusen before his move to Juventus, according to Tuttosport.
The west London giants bolstered their attack with the signings of Morgan Rogers and Geovany Quenda during the recent transfer window.
Alajbegovic was also touted to join the Blues, and reports claim that the Bosnian was ‘very close’ to making the switch before Juventus jumped in.
Blues boss Xabi Alonso revealed his plans for the youngster, noting he was likely to be loaned out for the season before featuring for the club next term.
This ultimately proved unsuccessful as Juventus secured the youngster, ensuring a starting role under manager Luciano Spalletti.
Alajbegovic has featured in the last four matches across all competitions for the Turin side, contributing a goal in the 5‑0 Europa League victory over NEC.
His integration with Spalletti hints at an impressive future with Juventus.
