Rick Achberger, widely recognized by wrestling fans as the iconic “WWE Sign Guy,” has passed away.
Achberger was a familiar presence at WWE events for years, typically clad in his signature blue workman’s shirt and red hat while holding up signs from the crowd. His constant visibility made him a recognizable staple within the wrestling community.
A devoted enthusiast, Achberger reportedly attended between 40 and 50 live events annually. His passion for the product cemented his status as a fixture in WWE audiences for years.
He was most recently spotted in attendance at WWE SmackDown on May 1.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of WWE Sign Guy Rick Achberger, today Sunday 9/27/26. He was an absolute great guy and loved talking with fans at the shows. He tackled some health problems a couple of years ago, but last month began to go downhill rapidly. Rest in peace.”
