The feat is rare: San Francisco is the fourth team since 1990 to post zero sacks allowed through three games, matching Andy Dalton’s 2014 Bengals and Peyton Manning’s Colts in 1999 and 2005.

Purdy has excelled at diagnosing pressure and releasing the ball quickly while also picking up yards when chased. On 10 carries, he has gained 93 rushing yards and eight first downs. He leads the league with nine touchdown passes and a 133.1 passer rating and has climbed to No. 2 in the MVP odds.
