WASHINGTON — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that it was premature to identify those responsible for the foiled attempt to crash a Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
Netanyahu said the investigation was ongoing and involved multiple countries, including Saudi Arabia. He noted that the pilot involved was being examined in Saudi Arabia and could be transferred to the United Arab Emirates, where the flight originated, as the probe continued.
“It’s too early to say, the attacking pilot is now being investigated in Saudi Arabia,” Netanyahu said during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on the “Hannity” program. “I think he’ll be taken to the Emirates, where he comes from, or at least where he left, where he flew off from, and we’ll be following and possibly also participating in this investigation.”
Netanyahu made the remarks in response to a question about whether there was evidence of Iranian involvement in the incident.
