AJ Styles made a surprise appearance at an independent wrestling event to support his son, Avery Styles. At Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment’s AWE Loud show, Avery competed for the GWC Jr. Championship against Tristan Moody. The match ended in a disqualification victory for Avery after one of Moody’s allies interfered by pushing him off the top rope.
Following the bout, several of Moody’s associates attempted to attack Avery, but AJ Styles stepped in to make the save, helping his son up after the ring was cleared. The moment was captured and shared on Twitter, as shown below.
Avery Styles is a member of the TNA roster, while AJ Styles retired from in-ring competition following his defeat to Gunther at the Royal Rumble earlier this year. Avery is set to make his TNA in-ring debut at Bound For Glory in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match.
