The wheat market maintained its early gains into midday trading. Chicago SRW contracts rose 7–8 cents during the session, while Kansas City HRW futures advanced 5–6 cents. Meanwhile, Minneapolis spring wheat posted gains of 6–9 cents by Monday’s midday.
Monday’s Export Inspections report recorded shipments of 302,356 metric tons (11.11 million bushels) for the week ending October 1, a decline of 10.29% from the previous week and 48.95% lower than the same week last year. The Philippines led demand with 63,280 MT, followed by Bangladesh (59,056 MT) and Taiwan (51,448 MT). Year‑to‑date shipments now total 6.672 MMT (245.14 mbu), which remains 35% below the prior year’s level.
CFTC Commitment of Traders data indicated that managed money increased their net short position in Chicago wheat futures and options by 8,526 contracts, reaching a total of 21,670 contracts as of Tuesday. Conversely, in Kansas City wheat futures and options, they reduced their net long position by 11,033 contracts, leaving a net long of 30,710 contracts as of September 29.
An overnight Saudi Arabian wheat tender was fully subscribed, resulting in total purchases of 683,000 metric tons of wheat.
December 2026 CBOT Wheat settled at $6.9075, up 7.75 cents.
March 2027 CBOT Wheat was quoted at $7.0425, up 7.75 cents.
December 2026 KCBT Wheat traded at $7.41, up 5.75 cents.
March 2027 KCBT Wheat was priced at $7.5375, up 5.75 cents.
December 2026 MIAX Wheat settled at $7.0625, up 8.25 cents.
March 2027 MIAX Wheat was quoted at $7.2325, up 6.25 cents.
