WARSAW, Poland — A 15‑year‑old former student attacked three staff members at a primary school in central Poland on Thursday, killing one and injuring two, authorities said.
The assault took place shortly after 9 a.m. in Leszczydół‑Nowiny, a village about 50 kilometers northeast of Warsaw.
The suspect used a sharp object against the school’s principal, a custodian and a teacher. The principal subdued him, and the teenager was placed in custody. The custodian, a 37‑year‑old woman, later died from her injuries.
The incident follows a similar stabbing the previous day at a vocational school in northern Poland, where a 19‑year‑old student wounded eight people with a sharp instrument before being apprehended.
