The Los Angeles Dodgers will start Tarik Skubal against the Milwaukee Brewers, who will turn to staff ace Jacob Misiorowski, in Game 1 of the NLCS on Sunday.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, last year’s World Series MVP, is slated to start Game 2 on Monday at American Family Field, according to manager Dave Roberts.
Skubal also took the ball in Game 1 of the NLDS, delivering six strong innings, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out seven and walking two, leading to a 5-3 win over Atlanta.
Misiorowski made two regular‑season starts versus the Dodgers and a relief outing in last year’s NLCS, posting a 1.59 ERA with 27 strikeouts and only three walks across 17 innings.
In the NLDS, Yamamoto started Game 3, striking out ten batters over seven innings, conceding one run on four hits with a single walk.
Veteran left‑hander Blake Snell, a two‑time Cy Young winner, struggled as the Dodgers’ Game 2 starter against the Braves, who won 3‑2 to even the series at 1‑1; Los Angeles ultimately closed out Atlanta 3‑1.
Roberts indicated the Dodgers are exploring the possibility of adding another pitcher for the best‑of‑seven NLCS, a move that would necessitate dropping a position player, with rosters due Sunday morning.
Utility player Miguel Rojas left Game 3 versus the Braves mid‑at‑bat due to lower‑back discomfort; imaging revealed mostly pre‑existing issues, and he later took ground balls and a couple of batting‑practice rounds at Dodger Stadium on Friday.
The 37‑year‑old Rojas has hinted he may retire after the season.
“Today was encouraging,” Roberts said. “We still have a flight to catch and will see how he feels tomorrow during the workout, so nothing is set in stone.”
