Harmanpreet Kaur posted an unbeaten 91 off 41 balls in the third and final T20I between India Women and Zimbabwe Women at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur on October 20, 2026. During the innings break, she became emotional during a live on-air interview, wiping away tears with her sleeve before stepping away from the camera.
WV Raman, former head coach of the Indian women’s team and commentator, was conducting the interview when Harmanpreet became visibly emotional. She did not specify the cause of her reaction on air.
Harmanpreet promoted to number four, took time to find her rhythm, scoring a single boundary off her first 12 balls before accelerating sharply. Her unbeaten 91 comprised 10 fours and 5 sixes, while Shafali Verma also contributed a half-century, guiding India to 216/7 from their 20 overs.
India secured a 92-run victory, completing a 3-0 series whitewash over Zimbabwe. The series also served as Smriti Mandhana’s inaugural assignment as T20I captain for the side.
The knock held particular significance given Harmanpreet’s recent struggles. It marked her first half-century in ten matches and her first fifty of 2026. She had endured a difficult run during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 and the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, though India claimed victory in both competitions. She attributed her return to form to her support staff.
“It feels great. Just wanted to enjoy myself, and great that I got some time in the middle and really enjoyed myself on the field,” said Harmanpreet.
“Batting is key for me, and I just want to keep working on it and repeating those processes in the nets. I really want to give credit to my batting coach (Himanshu Chawla), Manju bhaiya (Munish Bali), who have been working very hard with me and understand the kind of batting I can do,” she added.
