West Ham United is reportedly preparing to offload several players in January as manager Nuno Espírito Santo aims to restructure his squad and improve the club’s financial position.
According to reports, Soungoutou Magassa, Edson Alvarez, and Maxwel Cornet are among the players potentially leaving the London Stadium during the winter transfer window.
Soungoutou Magassa and Edson Alvarez Face Uncertain Futures
Magassa has struggled to secure a regular spot in West Ham’s first team since arriving from Monaco. The 22-year-old midfielder was linked with multiple European clubs over the summer, though no permanent move was completed. With limited playing time, Magassa may pursue a transfer in January if he seeks more consistent game time elsewhere.
The 22-year-old’s potential departure could also aid West Ham in managing their wage structure and funding new signings.
Alvarez’s future remains unclear. The Mexican defensive midfielder spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce but could not secure a permanent exit during the summer. West Ham rejected four offers for the player, none meeting their valuation. Given his high wages and uncertain role under Espírito Santo, the club may reevaluate their stance in January.
Maxwel Cornet Could Also Depart West Ham

Cornet, the club’s winger, has failed to secure a consistent role in the starting XI. Despite his potential, he has not convinced coaching staff of his readiness for regular first-team football. West Ham are exploring transfer options to reduce wage commitments, though their financial constraints—amplified by obligations tied to summer signings—may limit outgoing transfers.
Manager Espírito Santo must navigate these challenges carefully, balancing fiscal responsibility with the need to maintain a competitive squad capable of pursuing promotion ambitions.
