Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming limited series adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice,” starring Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy in a reimagined enemies-to-lovers romance.
The six-part series offers a faithful rendering of Jane Austen’s 1813 novel, penned by Dolly Alderton, author of “Everything I Know About Love.” Centered on the will-they-won’t-they romance between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, the story follows the pair as they navigate the rigid social landscape of 19th-century England. Euros Lyn, director of “Heartstopper,” helms the adaptation.
The ensemble cast features Olivia Colman (“The Crown”) as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell (“The Diplomat”) as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor (“Industry”) as Jane Bennet, Jamie Demetriou (“Stath Lets Flats”) as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack (“Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery”) as Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, Rhea Norwood (“Heartstopper”) as Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly (“Black Mirror”) as Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw (“Killing Eve”) as Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery round out the family as Mary Bennet and Kitty Bennet.
Additional cast members include Anjana Vasan (“We Are Lady Parts”), Sebastian Armesto (“Gangs of London”), Rosie Cavaliero (“KAOS”), Saffron Coomber (“Three Little Birds and Die Zweiflers”), James Dryden (“Deadpool”), Justin Edwards (“The Thick of It”), James Northcote (“The Last Kingdom”), Eloise Webb (“The Queen’s Gambit”), and Isabella Sermon (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”).
Executive producers include Emma Corrin, Laura Lankester, Dolly Alderton, Euros Lyn, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne serves as producer.
“Pride and Prejudice” premieres on Netflix on December 3. Watch the trailer below.
