The 14th annual “American Valor: A Salute to Our Heroes” Veterans Day special will air Saturday, November 14, across ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox stations. Marine Corps veteran and entertainer Rob Riggle returns to host the program, which showcases true stories honoring the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of America’s service members.
Filmed November 7 in Washington, D.C., this year’s broadcast features appearances by Toni Breidinger, Patricia Heaton, Gabriel Luna, Joel McHale, and Dean Norris. Narration duties will be shared by Will Arnett, Kristen Bell, Bill Hader, William H. Macy, Chris Pine, and Oprah Winfrey.
“‘American Valor’ is about remembering who we are as a nation and who we owe,” said Tim Holbert, president of the American Veterans Center and the special’s executive producer. “Two hundred fifty years of America. Eighty-five years since Pearl Harbor. Twenty-five years since September 11th. This year’s program brings together generations of Americans at their best, reminding us of who we are and who we want to be.”
The special includes a 25th-anniversary tribute to the acclaimed “Band of Brothers” series and a salute to Jimmy Stewart, timed with the November 6 release of the biopic “Jimmy.”
“I’m excited to be back for ‘American Valor’ and to help honor the men and women who have served our country,” Riggle said. “These veterans have incredible stories, and it’s important that we continue to share them and recognize what they’ve given to our country. I’m also proud to be part of this year’s tribute to Jimmy Stewart, who put his career on hold to serve during World War II. His story is another great example of the sacrifices so many Americans have made in service to our country.”
