Washington — The National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) voted 8-4 on Thursday to approve a proposed triumphal arch for President Donald Trump, after hearing hours of testimony from dozens of opponents who questioned its legality and purpose.
The proposed structure is planned to stand 250 feet tall, surpassing the height of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the design’s inspiration. The approval still leaves the project facing legal challenges.
