The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball program continues to build momentum in their 2027 recruiting efforts with a significant new addition.
Jack Thelen, a seven-foot-one center from Minnesota, officially announced his commitment to the Badgers on Saturday, June 13.
Thelen’s commitment comes on the heels of the program landing top-100 recruit Jalen Brown, marking a rapid surge for head coach Greg Gard, who has secured two commitments in less than a week.
Currently an unranked prospect on 247Sports, Thelen plays for Maple Grove High School in Osseo, MN. While he held offers from Murray State, Montana, Minnesota, and Miami (OH), Wisconsin successfully won out in the battle for the big man’s commitment.
The addition of Thelen aligns with Wisconsin’s recent strategy of prioritizing length and size in the frontcourt. While his perimeter shooting ability remains to be seen, his massive frame makes him an intriguing prospect for the Badgers’ future rotation.
