Eight years after the passing of legendary frontman Mark E. Smith, the influential English post-punk group The Fall has announced their final studio album. Titled Post Script, the record is scheduled for a mid-September release via Cog Sinister Records. The band has also debuted the lead single, “30 Degrees,” which is available to stream now.
“30 Degrees” was a collaborative effort co-written by the late Smith alongside band members Simon Archer and Ed Blaney in Salford, England. The upcoming album features nine tracks and represents the group’s first full-length studio effort since 2017’s New Facts Emerge. This follows a period of retrospective releases, including a 2018 live performance box set, a 2021 live album, and the publication of the band’s history in the book Excavate! The Wonderful and Frightening World of the Fall.
