A skydiving aircraft crashed in north-eastern France on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of all 11 individuals aboard, according to the regional prefect.
The incident occurred near the city of Nancy at 11 a.m., as confirmed by Yves Séguy, prefect of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department.
The aircraft was carrying a pilot, five students, and five instructors when it crashed abruptly near the aerodrome, with no additional casualties reported on the ground.
Séguy stated: “The plane, which was transporting 11 people, fell suddenly immediately next to the aerodrome. There were no collateral victims.”
Emergency responders arrived swiftly, and officials are gathering witness accounts to determine the cause of the crash.
French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez is en route to the crash site, according to his office.
