The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named seam‑bowling all‑rounder Shivam Dube as the replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy in India’s squad for the upcoming three‑match ODI series against England.
Nitish Reddy was ruled out of the T20I series after a left‑quadriceps injury sustained during the third ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai. He is continuing his rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and aims to return for India’s two‑Test tour of Sri Lanka in August.
Dube, who was already in England as part of the five‑match T20I squad, will stay on for the ODI matches. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed: “The Selection Committee has named Shivam Dube as a replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy in India’s squad for the ODI series against England.” The 31‑year‑old, a two‑time T20 World Cup winner, brings valuable middle‑order batting depth and medium‑pace bowling options. He has appeared in four ODIs to date, scoring 43 runs and claiming one wicket; his last appearance was against Sri Lanka in Colombo in August 2024.
The series will open on July 14 at Edgbaston, Birmingham; the second ODI follows on July 16 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, and the third on July 19 at Lord’s. After the ODIs, Dube is scheduled to join India’s T20I squad for the tour of Zimbabwe.
