Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder was filmed enjoying a moment as ‘Alive’ played during the hydration break at the World Cup.
The incident occurred during the 2026 FIFA World Cup last-16 match at Seattle Stadium on July 6, where the USA lost 4-1 to Belgium.
During the second-half hydration break, the stadium’s public address system played Pearl Jam’s 1991 classic ‘Alive’, with photographers capturing hometown legend Vedder in the stands as the crowd sang along.
In the footage, Vedder is seen raising a drink, engaging the crowd, and then finishing a can of Stella Artois, which spilled down his shirt as fans cheered.
‘Alive’ was Pearl Jam’s debut single from their 1991 album ‘Ten’, co-written by Vedder and Stone Gossard. The track has since become a defining part of the band’s legacy.
