India captain Shubman Gill, Bangladesh all‑rounder Mossadek Hossain and New Zealand pacer Nathan Smith have been shortlisted for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for June. Scotland all‑rounder Kathryn Bryce, India spinner Sree Charani and England opener Danni Wyatt‑Hodge have been named in the women’s shortlist.
Gill earned his place through consistent performances in home Tests and ODIs against Afghanistan. Mossadek was recognised for his contributions with both bat and ball during Bangladesh’s home ODI series win over Australia, while Smith was highlighted for his impact in New Zealand’s Test series triumph in England.
Bryce’s all‑round displays in a home series against Bangladesh and throughout the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup secured her nomination. Charani and Wyatt‑Hodge were shortlisted based on their strong showings in the World Cup.
Men’s Shortlist
Shubman Gill (India)
Gill scored 126 in an innings victory over Afghanistan in the one‑off Test in New Chandigarh and amassed 238 runs in three ODIs at a strike‑rate of 135.22. He recorded scores of 84* and 154 in the first two matches and did not bat in the third, as India won by nine wickets in Chennai to clinch the series 3‑0. He was named Player of the Series.
Mossadek Hossain (Bangladesh)
Mossadek was Player of the Series as Bangladesh beat Australia 2‑1 at home. The 30‑year‑old compiled 157 runs in the three matches at a strike‑rate of 116.29 and claimed two wickets with his off‑spin, both coming in the first ODI in Dhaka where he also earned Player of the Match with an unbeaten 86 off 70 balls.
Nathan Smith (New Zealand)
The 27‑year‑old seam bowler finished as the series’ leading wicket‑taker as New Zealand defeated England 2‑1. He took 16 wickets at an average of 23.00, including a six‑for‑70 in the second innings of the first Test at Lord’s, and was named Player of the Series.
Women’s Shortlist
Kathryn Bryce (Scotland)
Bryce excelled with both bat and ball throughout June, preparing for the T20 World Cup with a home series win over Bangladesh. In seven T20Is during the period she scored 178 runs at a strike‑rate of 140.15 and took 11 wickets with an economy of 7.10.
Sree Charani (India)
The 21‑year‑old left‑arm spinner finished the group stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup as the leading wicket‑taker, posting figures of 3/21 against Pakistan, 4/19 against the Netherlands and 3/24 against South Africa. She ended the tournament with 14 wickets in six matches at an economy of 6.69.
Danni Wyatt‑Hodge (England)
The England opener delivered key performances as her side reached the T20 World Cup final. She entered the knockout stage as the tournament’s leading run‑scorer, including an unbeaten 105 against Sri Lanka and an 89 against defending champions New Zealand.
