The half-time break during the World Cup final is anticipated to span 20 to 25 minutes, incorporating an 11-minute global music showcase headlined by Madonna, Shakira, and BTS.
Organizers from FIFA have indicated that the standard 15-minute interval could be extended to accommodate the high-profile performance, aligning with precedent from last year’s Club World Cup final where a 24-minute half-time show featured Coldplay, J Balvin, and other artists.
While the International Football Association Board (Ifab) governs the 15-minute half-time limit, FIFA may seek adjustments to prioritize the halftime spectacle, which also includes Justin Bieber, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus alongside Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who is curating the event.
The final, scheduled to kick off at 15:00 local time (20:00 BST), will open with a 13:30 local time (18:30 BST) closing ceremony featuring performances by Tom Cruise, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams, and IShowSpeed, with Jennifer Hudson set to perform the U.S. national anthem.
Spain advanced to the matchup by defeating France 2-0 in Dallas, while England and Argentina face off in Atlanta on Wednesday at 20:00 BST for the remaining final slot.
