RIO RANCHO, N.M. – The New Mexico Goatheads have secured defenseman Trevor Zins, adding him to their roster for the 2026‑27 campaign.
Zins, a 27‑year‑old from Saint Michael, Minn., joins the Goatheads after a season split between the Idaho Steelheads, Greensboro Gargoyles and Indy Fuel. He recorded 17 points (2 g, 15 a) in 65 regular‑season games and added three assists in five Kelly Cup playoff contests with Indy. Zins now begins his fourth professional season, having appeared in over 200 ECHL regular‑season games.
Zins played four college seasons with St. Cloud State and the University of St. Thomas, anchoring the Tommies’ blue line after transferring. His collegiate career led to a professional debut in 2023.
He previously honed his skills in the British Columbia Hockey League, spending three seasons with the Trail Smoke Eaters before his college career.
