Thick smoke and an orange haze from hundreds of active wildfires in Canada have spread across Ontario and into northern U.S. states.
According to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, 838 wildfires are currently active across the country.
Officials note that the current smoke levels are expected to be less severe than in 2023, when wildfires in Quebec caused significant smoke coverage along the U.S. East Coast.
