On Friday, President Donald Trump warned that he could levy tariffs against Canada due to wildfire smoke, though it remained uncertain whether he possesses the legal power to enact such a measure.
He stated on Truth Social, “We hold Canada accountable for failing to properly manage its forests and brush, allowing the United States to be needlessly besieged by dirty, polluted, and unhealthy air that poses a danger and is wholly unacceptable.”
