Kate Middleton Reportedly Strained as Prince William Remains ‘Consumed with Bitterness’ Over Ongoing Royal Family Rift

In recent years, Prince William and Prince Harry have maintained a significant distance from one another. On July 15, a source told People that the brothers’ relationship is “so broken.”

“I thought it would have perhaps eased a little bit by now, to be honest,” an insider close to the brothers said. “But there has been no movement, especially on William’s side. There is no contact.”

The ongoing tension appears to be taking a toll on Kate Middleton, who is reportedly distressed by her husband’s continued distress. An insider told Heat World that witnessing William’s persistent anger is “tearing Kate apart,” noting that she has “tried everything” to support him. “She’s listened, she’s sympathised, she’s encouraged him to talk it through, but nothing seems to work,” they explained.

Sources now suggest that Kate has reached a point of frustration and is adopting a firmer approach. “She’s at the point where she doesn’t know what else she can do, so she’s resorting to a bit of tough love,” the source added. “She’s ordered him to snap out of it. She’s told him to look around him and realise they’ve got so much to be grateful for. Kate’s feeling happier than she has in a long time and she wants William to start seeing that the glass is half full, too.”

According to reports, Kate has directly urged William “to stop letting all this stress impact his mood, because it’s affecting everyone around him. The last thing she or the kids need is to see him moping around all the time.”

The Princess of Wales has demonstrated loyalty through previous challenges, including Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive accusations in their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and Harry’s memoir Spare, in which he claimed William physically assaulted him during an argument about Meghan.

While acknowledging William’s anger, Kate reportedly recognizes his underlying vulnerability. “Kate recognises that, underneath the bluster, William is in a lot of pain, too,” the insider continued. “Deep down, he still loves his brother, and no one ever imagined they’d still be this estranged after all these years.”

Palace sources maintain hope that Kate may yet help bridge the divide between the brothers. “William listens to Kate. She’s probably the only person who can get through to him. She has managed to drill a bit of sense into him, but there’s still a lot of work to do.”
