Ant International’s Alipay+ has partnered with Argentina’s national QR payment scheme, Transferencias 3.0, through collaboration with Latin America-focused fintech PVS.
The integration enables international travelers to make QR code payments across Argentina at participating merchants, including restaurants, shopping centers, and tourist attractions.
Transactions are processed as cross-border payments via Alipay+ using Transferencias 3.0’s acceptance infrastructure.
Transferencias 3.0, an interoperable instant payment system developed by Argentina’s Central Bank (BCRA), allows consumers to pay using any participating digital wallet or banking app by scanning a single QR code.
Alipay+ connects 150 million merchants to over 50 digital wallets and banking apps globally.
The Argentina initiative follows Alipay+’s May 2026 partnership with PVS, which initially focused on cross-border mobile payment services in Argentina and Chile.
“Argentina’s highly interoperable digital payment ecosystem creates a strong foundation for seamless digital commerce,” said Weixiao Jiang, General Manager for North Asia and the Americas at Alipay+. “We’re honored to integrate with the national QR payment scheme through PVS, connecting international travelers with a broad merchant network to boost visitor spending and support tourism while benefiting local businesses.”
“Through our partnership with Alipay+, we’re empowering Latin American merchants to access one of the world’s largest digital payment ecosystems, connecting them with over 2 billion user accounts,” said PVS CEO Lucio Colunga. “This enables international travelers to pay with trusted wallets while creating new growth opportunities for regional businesses.”
Alipay+ is expanding cross-border payment and financial services partnerships across Latin America.
Earlier this year, Alipay introduced AI Wallet and Token Pay to support payments in the emerging “agentic economy.”
