Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Interdict Two Oilalleria Tankers in the Strait of Hormuz
On Tuesday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced the interception of two oil tankers that were attempting to transit the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz. The Guards said the vessels were “non‑compliant,” and they were stopped after explosions caused extensive fires aboard both ships.
According to a statement released by the Guards and carried by state news agency IRNA, the explosions intensified the danger in the already volatile passage, prompting the immediate halt of the tankers before they could proceed further into the strait.
