Duluth, Ga. — The Atlanta Gladiators, the ECHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators of the NHL and the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL, have signed forward Connor Caponi to a contract for the 2026‑27 season.
Connor Caponi has agreed to join the Gladiators for his second professional season and first in the ECHL. The 26‑year‑old spent the 2025‑26 campaign with the Cardiff Devils of the Elite Ice Hockey League, recording three assists in 35 regular‑season contests. He added a goal in four playoff games and helped the Devils win their fourth EIHL playoff title.
Caponi honed his skills at the University of Denver, where he played five seasons (2020‑2025) of college hockey. He captured two national championships (2022, 2024), holds the program’s career games record with 185 appearances, and served as an alternate captain during his final two seasons. A Milwaukee native, he was recognized as a 2024‑25 AHCA All‑American Scholar, NCHC Distinguished Scholar‑Athlete, and earned five selections to the NCHC Academic All‑Conference Team.
During his final collegiate season in 2024‑25, Caponi posted nine points (five goals, four assists) across 42 games. His breakout campaign came in 2023‑24, when he recorded 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 44 games while helping the Pioneers win their second consecutive national title. Over his college career, he amassed 38 points (18 goals, 20 assists) in 185 games.
