Three wrestlers have moved on to the next stage of the AEW Continental Challenge Cup.
Kyle O’Reilly captured a victory over Roderick Strong in Saturday’s Collision main event, securing his progression. After the match, tensions flared as Strong shoved O’Reilly, but the two quickly reconciled with a hug. Orange Cassidy joined them at the entrance, concluding the broadcast.
In a separate contest, Don Callis’s Hechicero bested his ally Brian Cage, while Nigel McGuiness outmaneuvered Katsuyori Shibata with a bridge finish. However, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone later announced that McGuiness has sustained an injury and additional details will be disclosed during Monday’s Quarterfinal Selection Special on YouTube.
Other qualifiers include Claudio Castagnoli, Orange Cassidy, Eddie Kingston, Jay White, and incumbent Continental Champion Jon Moxley, who will defend his title throughout the tournament. Future matchups will be decided by another blind draw.
The Continental Challenge Cup finals are slated for All In on August 30.
