In an increasingly competitive landscape, the screenless fitness wearable market is witnessing heightened competition this year.
Whoop
Whoop, a leading fitness wearable company, has announced that its Advanced Labs feature is now accessible without a subscription requirement. All Whoop users can opt to utilize blood testing health screenings through Advanced Labs. It’s important to note that the lab tests themselves are not free—these services, conducted by Quest Diagnostics, start at around $150 per test—but access is no longer gated behind an additional membership cost.
These screenings offer valuable data on a user’s cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal, and inflammatory health. In addition, Whoop has expanded its Advanced Labs portfolio by incorporating the Galleri test, which enables multi-cancer early detection.
The market for screenless fitness trackers has become increasingly crowded in recent months, with notable additions from Garmin and Google’s Fitbit. Whoop’s decision to make its health insights more widely available may be a strategic effort to maintain customer interest and differentiate its product line in a competitive environment.
