Clive Davis’ death has left much of the music industry and Hollywood in mourning. The respected executive, who founded Arista Records and J Records, nurtured the careers of many iconic artists, including Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, the Grateful Dead, The Notorious B.I.G, Janis Joplin, Alicia Keys, and countless others.

On Monday in New York City, Kenny G, Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, Jennifer Hudson, Keys, and Springsteen are among those slated to attend his funeral, according to Rolling Stone. The venue for the ceremony has yet to be announced, and it remains unclear whether they will perform or speak.

Davis’ passing was confirmed on Monday by his longtime representative Aliza Rabinoff, who issued a statement saying he “passed away peacefully from an age‑related illness … surrounded by his family and loved ones.” Over seven decades, Davis earned a reputation as a relentless champion of the artists he believed in and a shrewd businessman.

In the wake of his death, Keys joined many legendary musicians crediting Davis for shaping their early careers. “Clive Davis changed my life forever,” Keys wrote in her tribute. “He stood beside me through every chapter that followed. Not in the shallow, industry‑driven way, but with genuine love for the limitless possibilities I could pursue.”

Springsteen also shared a remembrance on social media, writing, “On E Street we mourn the loss of the great record man and close friend Clive Davis.” He added, “He treated me with the same respect and kindness as a 22‑year‑old nobody as he did after all my success. A great man. All our prayers and love.”
