“On Wires” will appear on Day and Night, the Canadian singer-songwriter’s first double album
Carly Rae Jepsen explores enduring love through bold musical experimentation on “On Wires,” the first single from her upcoming double album Day and Night. The track blends dramatic piano motifs with expansive arena-rock production under the guidance of collaborator Kyle Shearer, with lyrics co-developed alongside Shearer and Nate Cyphert. Director Caio Viera’s accompanying music video captures Jepsen performing in cinematic concert settings and urban environments, filmed during her pregnancy before the birth of her child in March 2026.
Day and Night arrives on September 18 through Interscope Records, serving as Jepsen’s eighth studio album following 2023’s compilation The Loveliest Time. The release coincides with her return to live performance at New York City’s All Things Go Festival on September 27, featuring her first public appearance of 2026. The double album structure features 24 tracks across two discs – 12 songs each representing opposing thematic elements – with working titles such as “Ruby” and “Wild Child” hinted at through social media teasers. Collaborators include frequent creative partner Tavish Crowe, fellow musicians Kyle Shearer and Nate Cyphert, and her husband Cole M.G.N. Part of a larger creative revival marking the tenth anniversary of her breakthrough Emotion album, the project also extends to a stage adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You where Jepsen co-writes with Lena Dunham.
