Administration halts historic preservation review for proposed 250‑foot arch

A Trump appointee announced on Thursday that the administration will terminate a federal review assessing the potential impact of the proposed 250‑foot arch on historic properties.

“We are hereby terminating consultation,” said Travis Voyles, vice chairman of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, in a notice sent to local preservation offices and advocacy groups that had been working with the administration to mitigate the impacts of the planned 250‑foot arch.
