Sheamus is now a free agent after his WWE contract expired at the start of October. While he has not yet signed with All Elite Wrestling, several AEW insiders are actively lobbying for the former world champion to join the promotion.
Despite his availability, Sheamus has not signed with AEW, nor has he appeared on the company’s programming. There have been no public reports of substantive negotiations between the two parties so far.
According to Fightful Select, prominent AEW veterans—who previously teamed or feuded with Sheamus—are among those pushing the roster to bring him onboard. These wrestlers have expressed a desire to see him compete in AEW.
AEW has generally adopted a wait‑and‑see approach with wrestlers whose contracts are nearing expiration. In recent months, Tony Khan and the AEW leadership have preferred to delay talks until the athletes are officially free agents, even when the legal risk of early discussions is minimal.
Since becoming a free agent, Sheamus has attracted interest from several promotions, with TNA Wrestling also reportedly evaluating a potential acquisition of the Irish superstar.
