The CMLL 93rd Aniversario extravaganza in Arena Mexico this Friday features a landmark three-way World Championship encounter pitting AEW and NJPW specialists against one another. CMLL confirmed the inclusion of world-reigning AEW legend Hechicero defending his title against seasoned adversaries Claudio Castagnoli and Zack Sabre Jr., delivering a compelling narrative for the main event.
The anniversario celebration will showcase multiple championship bouts. PMI announced that Hechicero, who holds a dual contract with CMLL and AEW, captured the World Heavyweight Championship earlier this year by overcoming Castagnoli and subsequently defended successfully over Eddie Kingston, whose performance received divided public response. This would constitute his second reign atop CMLL’s premier world title, following his initial hold in late 2021–2022.

Additionally, CMLL Women’s World Champion Persephone will compete for her crown in a four-man battle alongside international fighters Mina Shirakawa, Starlight Kid, and Tessa Blanchard.
Persephone currently serves as the new AEW TBS Champion and holds the primary CMLL titles.
