AEW wrestler Juice Robinson discarded his iconic beard, but the decision was far from a stylistic choice.
During an appearance on What Happened When with Tony Schiavone, Robinson detailed how a lat pulldown cable caught and partially tore his facial hair. This incident compelled him to completely overhaul his look prior to his AEW return the previous year.
“The actual reason is that I got it caught in a lat pulldown cable, and it ripped out about four strands. I got angry, went home from the gym, and shaved the whole thing off. When I saw the result, I was stunned. I figured when I came back, I would take this thing down to the skin to make it look shocking. I just wanted a massive change. My plan was returning with an all-black, subdued aesthetic to see how I felt, essentially starting with a blank slate.”
“I was pulling it down to my chest, and my beard was long enough to get caught in it. I was recovering from a leg injury and just trying to get a lift in. It got caught in the pulley and ripped out about six long hairs right in the middle. I was furious and embarrassed. I thought, ‘What am I doing? Get rid of this mess.’”
Robinson made his comeback at AEW All In 2025 after recovering from a broken fibula, entering the Casino Gauntlet match.
