AEW talent and Death Riders member Marina Shafir has been confirmed for a title match at MyAEW PPV in November. Shafir will face Pro Wrestling EVE International Champion Miyu Yamashita, following her surprise attack on Yamashita during the EVE x The World 2 event at All In weekend.
Yamashita successfully defended her championship at TJPW Wrestle Princess VII, and after the match, she issued her challenge to the AEW performer (translated from Japanese): “We won! Overall in the match, I was being overwhelmed by Arisu, so it was all about grit in the end. Normally I don’t come up with strategies or anything, but this time I did plan one out, but it got completely dismantled from the start. Next, I think we’re going to England in November. Since I defended this belt today, Marina, [I will] put this belt on the line, face me.”
Shafir vs. Yamashita Heads Main Event of Pro Wrestling EVE’s Elite Encounters 2
Elite Encounters 2 is scheduled for November 8 at The Hanger in Wolverhampton, England. So far, three matches have been confirmed for the card, all featuring AEW-contracted wrestlers:
- Hyperactive (Anita Vaughan & Safire Reed) vs. Brawlin’ Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter)
- EVE International Title Match: Miyu Yamashita vs. Marina Shafir
- EVE Title Match: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Kay Lee Ray
