SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The American Hockey League is convening the 2026 AHL Team Business Meetings presented by Victory Live this week, bringing together more than 250 representatives from the league and its member clubs at the DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Front‑office personnel from across the AHL are meeting to discuss best practices and innovative strategies in ticket sales, corporate sales, and marketing. These sessions enable participants to share ideas and gain insights from leading sports‑industry strategists as the league’s 32 clubs prepare for the upcoming season.
Keynote speakers and presenters include: Scott Howson, AHL President and CEO; Toni Will, General Manager of the Kalamazoo Wings; Dennis Fryer, Head of Growth and Development for Hustle Inc.; Brian Gainor, Founder of Gainor Sports; Goodbye to Annie, Director of Strategy, Partnership and Events at Ohio University; Amanda Dennis, Vice President of Sales and Revenue Marketing for Ilitch Sports and Entertainment; Marc Ruxin, Chief Strategy Officer at AXS; and Kurt Weaver, Executive Director of the You Can Play Project.
Approximately 40 merchandise, promotional, ticketing, and technology companies will participate in the AHL’s annual Vendor Showcase. The league will also honor team staff for their business achievements during the annual TBS Awards Presentation.
Hibu, Mustang Products, XNow, Conquer, Grand Rapids Venues and the West Michigan Sports Commission are hospitality partners for the 2026 AHL Team Business Meetings.
Founded in 1936 and celebrating its 90th anniversary this season, the AHL remains the premier development league for all 32 National Hockey League teams. Nearly 90 percent of current NHL players are AHL alumni, and more than 100 Hockey Hall of Fame members spent time in the league during their careers.
