Akriila is the print cover star of the September/October 2026 issue of NME Magazine, now on sale bundled with Guitar.com Magazine, which features Towa Bird on its cover.
Founded in 1952, NME ceased its weekly print edition in 2018. The brand announced its return to print in July 2023 with a bi‑monthly global magazine that highlights the best new artists and bands worldwide, alongside exclusive franchises, industry insight and reviews of the latest music, TV, film and gaming releases.
This latest release, available exclusively via retailer Dawsons, showcases Chilean genre‑bender Akriila on the cover. The issue also includes a copy of Guitar.com Magazine, whose September/October 2026 cover features Towa Bird. NME and Guitar.com operate as sister publications under NME Networks.
Each issue of NME Magazine opens with The Cover, NME’s flagship editorial project dedicated to emerging talent. In this edition, Akriila is profiled by Charis McGowan and photographed by Lo Harley in London. She talks about her music journey from a bedroom in Santiago’s trap scene to the release of her latest album “Lucy Miró Al Mundo Y Notó Que Está Girando” last September.
The September/October 2026 issue also features interviews with Trim, Tyla and This Is Lorelei; photo coverage from Reading Festival 2026; and the revived 15×15 NME crossword.
Previous print covers have included artists such as ENHYPEN, Laufey, The Last Dinner Party, Chappell Roan, Kneecap, LE SSERAFIM, Nemahsis, Oklou, Kwn, Waylon Wyatt, BOYNEXTDOOR, Rose Gray, Mandy, Indiana and Yves.
