Alan Ritchson Claims ‘Reacher’ White Supremacist Plot Was Scrapped Following Trump’s Re-Election

Actor Alan Ritchson has stated that a storyline involving white supremacists for the series Reacher was abandoned following Donald Trump’s re-election.

The Amazon Prime Video adaptation of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels stars Ritchson in the titular role.

During a recent online exchange with a fan, Ritchson revealed an attempt to adapt Die Trying, the 1998 installment, which features the protagonist “killing his way through a white supremacist militia camp.”

On Threads, the actor referenced Trump’s 2024 victory, stating, “My favourite book. Fun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected.”

Last year, the actor, who identifies as Christian, addressed criticism he finds perplexing in an interview with GQ, saying, “People have this weird relationship with fictional characters, and sort of equate that to the real human being.”

“I don’t have that problem, making that distinction. I get criticized a lot by Christians who are like, ‘How dare you have an unmarried sex scene on TV and then talk about Jesus?’ I’m sorry—I doubt that’s going to be part of the conversation when I’m standing at the pearly gates!”

The series recently concluded its fourth season, adapted from Child’s 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow, and launched the spin-off Neagley, centered on Maria Sten’s character Frances Neagley.
