Sacha Baron Cohen’s iconic satirical character, Ali G, has made a surprise appearance at the 2026 Wimbledon finals.
On Sunday, Ali G resurfaced via a newly launched Instagram account. In a video clip, the character humorously critiques the tournament, describing tennis as a “crap version of ping pong” and jokingly claiming he intends to sell “herbal remedies” on the grass courts.
The post’s caption furthered the joke, stating, “I iz BACK! And if u iz at dis borin wimbledore final lookin 2 get grand slammed, I iz here wif de hookup.”
This sudden appearance follows recent reports that a new feature film starring the character has secretly completed production. While a release date has not yet been announced, the sequel marks the character’s first major outing since 2002’s Ali G Indahouse.
The alter ego of the three-time Oscar nominee first rose to prominence in 1998 on the British program The 11 O’Clock Show. Recognized by his signature yellow tracksuits and heavy hip-hop slang, Ali G became a global phenomenon through his awkward, high-stakes interviews with public figures including Donald Trump and David and Victoria Beckham.
In addition to his film work, the Borat star’s character headlined the hit television series Da Ali G Show, which aired for three seasons between 2000 and 2004.
