Amazon Warriors Reach Final After Eight-Over Thriller Against Tridents

Guyana Amazon Warriors 75 for 3 (Brits 35 not out, Campbelle 22, Hector 1-11) beat Barbados Tridents 69 for 4 (Green 30, Matthews 22, Burns 1-6)

Rain cut the playoff to an eight-over contest, with the Amazon Warriors restricting the Barbados Tridents to 69 for 4. Openers Shabnim Ismail and Shamilia Connell again gave their side a strong start, and by the end of the third over, bowled by Sheneta Grimmond, Qiana Joseph had retired out on 3 from 12 balls.

Tridents captain Hayley Matthews struck 22 from 14 balls before Maddy Green, their New Zealand overseas player, top-scored with 30 from 16. Their efforts lifted Barbados to a competitive total, but it proved insufficient as the Warriors reached the target with four balls remaining.

Although Eboni Brathwaite fell for 2 in the first over of the chase, Tazmin Brits steadied the innings with an unbeaten 35 from 23 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Former captain Shemaine Campbelle added a quick 22 from 12 balls, helping the Amazon Warriors seal their place in the final with little difficulty.
