The experimental duo Angine De Poitrine introduced a mysterious third member during a recent live performance in Toronto.
The band expanded its lineup at the History venue on Thursday, November 5, briefly welcoming the new addition on stage.
The unidentified musician—characterized by fans as an “alien”—played the triangle on a new, as-yet-untitled track that received its live debut during the show. Setlist.FM lists the extra performer as “Poitrine,” though the name has not been independently verified.
Speculation quickly spread across Reddit, where fans debated the character’s identity and the song’s potential purpose. One user suggested the track might serve as the theme song for a Quebec television program, while another jokingly questioned the newcomer’s sense of rhythm. A reply suggested the musician could simply be a virtuoso on their home planet, incomprehensible to earthly ears.
Other attendees described the composition as “groovy” and “very cool,” with one fan adopting “Petit Poitrine” as their personal headcanon until further details emerge.
