Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has assured customers that the company has no plans to raise the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 in the near future.

The Switch 2 launched last year with a recommended retail price of $449.99 in the United States, €469.99 across Europe, and £395.99 in the United Kingdom. In May, Nintendo announced a price increase, citing shifts in the market environment and a review of its global business outlook.

The revised RRP now stands at $499.99 in the U.S. and £419.99 in the UK. At the time, Nintendo apologized for the inconvenience and disruption caused to customers and partners, asking for their understanding.

Rising hardware costs have affected the broader industry. Sony recently implemented a second PlayStation 5 price increase within a year, while Xbox console prices have also climbed. Microsoft noted that console storage and memory costs have risen more than 2.5 times and are projected to double again by fall 2027.

Speaking during a recent earnings call, Furukawa stated that Nintendo is “not considering additional changes” to the Switch 2’s price. He added that there has been no significant change to the memory situation and that the company is positioned to secure sufficient supplies, according to Reuters.

Nintendo has reportedly sold more than 23 million Switch 2 consoles since launch. On November 5, hundreds of fans gathered for a midnight launch of the platform’s latest exclusive, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake.

The remake is among the most critically acclaimed video games of all time. In a five-star review, NME wrote: “Rather than a cheap cash-in to take advantage of The Legend of Zelda‘s milestone birthday, this remake of Ocarina of Time feels loving and retains the spirit that made the original so adored. Sure, it’s millennial nostalgia-bait, but the pretty graphics, expanded world and polished soundtrack will help a new generation see why so many consider this the greatest video game of all time.”
