Apple TV+ Announces ‘The Morning Show’ Will Conclude with Fifth Season in 2027

An era is coming to an end at Apple TV+. The streaming giant has officially announced that its premier scripted series, “The Morning Show,” will conclude its run with a fifth and final season. First-look images for the concluding chapter have been released, with the final episodes scheduled to premiere in 2027.

Launching in 2019, “The Morning Show” became an immediate cornerstone for Apple’s streaming service. The series’ success was driven by the immense talent of leads Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, with Aniston marking her first regular television role since her departure from “Friends.” Based loosely on Brian Stelter’s book “Top of the Morning,” the drama-comedy explores the high-stakes environment of a fictional morning news program, navigating complex societal themes such as the #MeToo movement, racial inequality, and the evolving landscape of American politics.

The series has steadily expanded its ensemble over the years, notably adding Jon Hamm as billionaire Paul Marks in the third season. The talented cast currently includes Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, and Nicole Beharie. For the final fifth season, viewers can expect new additions including Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes, and Lizzy Caplan.

The show has been a critical darling, earning four Emmy wins and 28 nominations throughout its lifespan. Most recently, Billy Crudup received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama for the fourth season.

It has been a stellar creative experience — one I will always treasure.”

Jennifer Aniston also commented on the journey: “From the beginning, Apple has supported our vision for ‘The Morning Show,’ and we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to tell stories that reflect what’s happening in the world around us with a twist of dark humor. We’ve become such a family and we’re all so excited to share this final season. Season 5 of “The Morning Show” will arrive on Apple TV+ in 2027.
