Apple TV’s “Brothers” Trailer Introduces McConaughey and Harrelson as Potential Siblings

If you’ve ever wondered if Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are related, you’re not alone. They’re not — the two Texas-born actors are simply friends. But a new Apple TV series poses a fascinating question: What if Harrelson and McConaughey were actually brothers? Brothers follows McConaughey and Harrelson, who portray fictionalized versions of themselves, as their friendship is turned upside down by a decades-old secret: they might actually be brothers. When Woody’s daughter’s engagement falls apart, he gathers the family and heads to Austin for an extended stay at Matthew’s ranch. What begins as a healing retreat spirals when Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac (Taylor), inadvertently reveals that the two friends could be blood-related. As Woody searches the ranch for answers, Matthew faces a separate identity crisis: a potential run for Governor of Texas.

The result is a heartfelt, chaotic, and wildly funny exploration of friendship, family, fame, and the messy boundary between myth and reality.

While the two actors have collaborated before — including the 2008 film Surfer, Dude — it was their turn in the first season of True Detective that cemented their status as an iconic duo. Their chemistry in that series set the standard for the anthology format and remains the fan-favorite season.
